Denver might finish the season with 9 wins and 7 losses.  Even worse, San Diego might finish an even 8 and 8.  They both have a shot at the playoffs.  Yet the 11-5 Patriots sit on the sideline looking in no matter what happens in the battle of the average teams this evening.  11 wins should be enough to get you into the playoffs in any given year.  If Denver was 10 and 6 or 11 and 5 I wouldn't feel so horrible but it hurts to see a shitty team like Denver or San Diego get into the playoffs while New England sits alone.

 I'm a bit bitter and I think there should be a change in the playoff system but perhaps next year that thought will not be with me.  11 and 5 is no 16 and 0 but a year removed from the Super Bowl and not even a respectable season gets you in. 

Guess I'll have to watch college basketball sooner than February this year.  Go Cards.  Two months until pitchers and catchers report.
